Galleries in Vancouver: Jennifer Kostuik Gallery Yaletown is home to many art galleries. This funky, post industrial area is located in east downtown Vancouver. The Jennifer Kostuik Gallery was originally located on Granville Street in South Granville. They relocated to Yaletown in 2007. The Jennifer Kostuik Gallery represents both emerging and established artists from Canada as well as USA and overseas. The work is mainly representative of nature, the environment and man’s connection to it. Each individual artist has a unique way of representing their relationship to nature and the environment, both conscious and unconscious. The gallery also does framing, worldwide shipping and large scale installations.
Current Exhibition August 17- September 7 2010 Currently showing at Jennifer Kostuik Gallery is Kevin O’Connell: Chords and Plains. The current artwork of Kevin O’Connell is a depiction of his relationship to the Great Plains. He is deeply connected to nature and is aware of the effect of industry on nature. Upcoming Exhibitions William Betts September 16 October 17 2010 This American Artist does one of kind acrylic paintings on reverse drilled plexiglass. Also his surveillance series is acrylic on canvas reproductions of surveillance photographs. Jennifer Stead November 2010 Jennifer Stead is a Canadian artist who specializes in landscapes. She lives in Banff. She has shown nationally in Calgary at the Paul Khun Gallery, in Toronto at the Birch-Libralato Gallery. Her paintings are small in size yet reach out, grab you and pull you in. She has driven across Canada many times and her love of landscape is evident in her work.
Other Upcoming Events The Jennifer Kostuik Gallery is also participating in the Interior Design Show West. Held annually at the new Vancouver Convention Centre, Jason Heard launched this design show to fill a much needed gap in the West Coast design market. The show attracts 25,000 people over its 3 days and welcomes over 4,000 designers.
