Arshile Gorky Life
-Arshile Gorky was born Vosdanik Adoian in Khorkom, Armenia in 1904
-Arrived in the USA in 1920
-By 1922 he was teaching at the New School of Design in Boston
-In 1925 he moves to NYC and changes his name to Arshile Gorky
-He enters the Grand Central School of Art in NYC as a student and eventually becomes a teacher there.
-Throughout the 1920s his work is influenced by Cezanne, Picasso, and Braque.
-In 1930 his word is entered into a group show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
-Gorky commits suicide in 1948 in Sherman Connecticut.
