Louise Nevelson Life

-Born 1899 in Kiev Russia as Louise Berliawsky -Her family emigrates to the USA in 1905 -In 1920 she marries Charles Nevelson and moves to New York -In NYC she studies visual and performing arts -Nevelson enrolls in the Art Students League in 1928 and is introduced to the works of Duchamp, Picasso, and Hofmann. -In 1932 she assists Diego Rivera on murals for the WPA Federal Art Project. -Her first solo show is in 1941 at the Neirendorf Gallery in NYC
